Broadway Dance Center is proud to present the first annual AIM Invitational.
This prestigious event, sponsored by BDC's youth performance company, Arts in Motion (AIM), is designed to bring the New York City dance community together and offer prominent surrounding area studios the chance to showcase their recital, concert, or competition pieces for an audience comprising some of today's most distinguished dance industry professionals. This panel of experts will provide powerful feedback that will foster the growth of these promising young dancers.
Works will be considered through a specific selection process. Please review the submission guidelines below.
We hope very much that you will be able to join us for this unprecedented one-day event, and give your dancers the remarkable opportunity to benefit from this unique performance experience.
The AIM Invitational will be held at the beautiful Florence Gould Hall, a 400 seat, state-of-the-art theater, on June 6th, 2010.
- Studios or Companies are welcome to submit solos, duets, trios, small and large groups
- Open to dancers ages 9-17 years old
- Performers should plan to be available to dance from 9AM until the close of the show at 8PM
- The day commences with a three-hour opening number rehearsal with an esteemed NYC choreographer
- The Invitational culminates with the performance at 5PM – showcase is open to the public and tickets will be available through Ticketmaster
- Dancers will receive personal feedback from our panel of industry professionals
- Performers also receive Invitational tote and certificate of Achievement
- Prizes and Scholarships will be awarded
- Additional options include DVD, photos and merchandise

- Video clips/ links must be submitted no later than March 31, 2010.

- Each piece should be limited to a maximum of three minutes.
- Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary submissions are welcomed. No Tap pieces will be allowed due to theater rules.
- Each school/company will be limited to a maximum of three total entries. If time permits we may be able to accept more entries.
- All applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable $25 processing fee, which will be deducted from the entry fees if your piece is selected.
Entry Fees
Entry fees are due by April 15, 2010.
- Solos- $100 per dancer
- Duos and Trios - $75 per dancer
- Small Group (4 to 8 dancers) - $55 per dancer
- Large Group (9 to 24 dancers) - $45 per dancer
Tickets
One complimentary ticket will be given to the Studio Director/Owner per piece entry. Additional tickets may be purchased for $25 through TicketMaster.com
Awards
The following awards will be presented at the AIM Invitational:
- Two FULL Scholarships to BDC's 2010 Summer Workshop (select dates from July 17-August 8)
- Two FULL Scholarships to BDC's 2010 Winter Workshop (December 27-31)
- One FULL Scholarship to THE PULSE NY Summer (July 22-25)
- One FULL Teacher Workshop awarded to studio owner/teacher who brings the most dancers
- Two Five-Class cards from BDC
- One Complimentary Headshot Session with Tracy Allen
