Jim Cooney has taught jazz, tap, and musical theater in numerous master classes and audition workshops across the country. He assisted the Tony nominated director/ choreographer Randy Skinner on the Broadway production of Abby’s Song and the musical Ginger starring Tony award winner Donna McKechnie.

His stage directing and choreography credits include 42nd St., No, No Nanette, The Music Man, Oklahoma!, Guys & Dolls, Sleeping Beauty, Bye Bye Birdie, Victor/Victoria, and Sorry, Wrong Number. Other projects include NBC’s "The Today Show," Lights on Broadway for the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, and BDC's Student Showcase.

Jim also has been the dance captain for eight productions including the first national tour of Susan Stroman’s Broadway revival of The Music Man and the original company of Nights on Broadway, directed and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler.

He is certified in Cardio Barre and Pilates, and is a group fitness instructor at Equinox Fitness Clubs.
