Originally from Florida, Marinda Davis relocated to NY at 18, to attend Marymount Manhattan College, graduating with a BA in Dance with a minor in Musical Theater. While she enjoyed a successful performing career dancing commercially for recording artists such as 98 Degrees and Sting and in concert dance, as a principal for Anthony Morigerato's company, AM Dance Project, NY; eventually her focus shifted to choreography and teaching.
Known as an inspiring, life-changing master teacher, you can often find Marinda on the competition/convention circuit inspiring young dancers across the world. She is a two-time recipient of ADA'S Young Choreographer of the Year. In 2009, Marinda formed her own company, marInspired; the storytellers based out of NY. After their debut at a festival at the Joyce Theater, Marinda was chosen to present work at the Young Choreographer's Festival at Symphony Space. Shortly after, Marinda was featured in Dance.com as one of the Top 10 American Choreographer's 25 and Under.
While in NY, Marinda contributed to Broadway Dance Center's Children & Teen Program. She is currently on the faculty for WILD Dance Convention, Just Plain Dancin', and is the resident choreographer for the Power Pak, and the artist in residence for a NJ mixed ability company; Marked Dance Project.
In January of 2012, marInspired; the storytellers premiered their first full evening of work, breakable in NY. The company enjoyed a completely sold-out run and opened to rave reviews. Last summer, Marinda was honored to be chosen as one of ten finalists for the 2013 Capezio ACE Awards. Recently relocating to LA, Marinda is currently working with Points of View; a modern theatrical company and is beginning work on her second marInspired show to be presented within the year.
