From the day Sarah Jean Kaye could walk, she has been trying to kill herself (physically & emotionally) through movement and music. At age 3, she was climbing furniture four times the size of herself; in high school it was cheerleading stunting & acrobatic group dances, and now she flies high in the sky with aerials & dance!
Originally from Freehold, NJ, Sarah went to the University at Buffalo and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance, Minor in Education. Sarah was a part of three inaugural production casts/creation teams for Celebrity Cruise Line’s newest line of vessels, performing in shows as both a featured dancer and specialty aerialist. Sarah has performed solo, duo, and group acts on apparatuses such as trapeze, lyra, silks, cloud swing, harness, wall running, bungee, and chandelier spinning, as well as a group statue partnering ground act. You know you have made it when you can balance on your tailbone, on someone’s neck, while at sea!
Sarah has also been a rehearsal coordinator and aerial trainer for POET Productions, teaching casts and trapeze acts for Celebrity Cruise Line’s shows. She has danced for David Saxe Productions, Spirit Worldwide, and his Holiness, the 14th Dali Lama, as well as performed aerials for Aerial Acrobat Entertainment & Avant Aerials for events and venues such as the Rock N’ Roll Resort, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s NYE Masquerade, Dixon Place, Back to Buffalo 4, and Webster Hall. Sarah is currently on staff at Westchester Circus Arts in Tarrytown, NY, teaches and choreographs at various dance schools, and travels to judge for various competitions.
Sarah believes in trying anything once, and it’s this motto that got her foot in the door in the aerial world! Now she is working regularly as a freelance dancer and aerialist, so she encourages everyone to come run away with her to the circus. Don’t be afraid of the height; be afraid of the addiction!
