Marc Kimelman is an award-winning NYC based choreographer from Toronto, Canada. Over the last decade, he has worked in every industry from Broadway and music to fashion and television, bringing his gifts for storytelling through forward-thinking movement. Most recently, he was the associate choreographer for the workshop of Broadway’s Hands on a Hardbody, and is the associate choreographer for the upcoming US National Tour of Queen’s We Will Rock You.
Marc was the assistant choreographer for the Broadway revival of the Tony-nominated Jesus Christ Superstar, and the associate choreographer for CBS’ hit show Elementary as well as Paper Mill Playhouse's Once on This Island. He has choreographed for Degrassi: The Next Generation, Instant Star, Broadway Bares, and Off-Broadway's Outer-Critic’s Circle nominated musical Play It Cool.
He has worked with the New York City Ballet, Katy Perry, Phish, Kurt Browning, Deborah Cox, Neil Young, Chaka Kahn, Charlize Theron, and has collaborated with Annie Leibovitz for Vogue. Performance credits include La Jolla Playhouse’s Jesus Christ Superstar, two seasons at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and the feature film Hairspray.
Marc is actively involved in charity work. In 2010, he spearheaded the event I Move Forward, which brought together top choreographers, singers and dancers to raise funds for artists whose lives are affected by cancer. He recently worked with Richard Simmons and The Pointer Sisters on Dance to Conquer Cancer, raising funds for the Princess Margaret Cancer Center.
