A native Israeli, Dorit Koppel first studied and performed with internationally renowned Bat-Dor and Bat-Sheva companies of Israel. She received a MFA in Dance from NYU Graduate School of the Performing Arts, after completing a BA in Dance at Sarah Lawrence College. Dorit was the Artistic Director and owner of Progressive Dance Studio in Englewood, NJ, where she developed a ballet training program for children, teens and adults.
Acclaimed as "Teacher of the Year" by Dance Pages Magazine, Dorit classically trained students who now dance with NYC Ballet and Boston Ballet, to list but a few. She coached Kioko Ina of USA Ice Skating team in Monsey, NY, and also developed their ballet program.
Dorit danced with the Wendy Osserman Dance company throughout the USA, participated in workshops and summer residencies led by Jose Limon Company and Alvin Ailey and has choreographed and appeared in a wide range of works in ballet and contemporary dance. Currently Dorit is a member of the ballet faculty at Studio Maestro in NYC and guest teaches throughout the United States.
