Working together for over 2 years now, La Jon and George have honed a style that separates them from the rest. Between the two of them, they have trained in styles ranging from ballet to stepping.
Born and raised in the South Bronx, La Jon aka Lil Luda aka Smiles grew up stepping and dancing in the streets. He began his career in a local after school program called Teens In Motion. While there he honed his skills in stepping and dancing. His lust for dancing led him to Broadway Dance Center. Once there he trained with such teachers as Bev Brown, Rhapsody James, and Brian "Footwork" Green. After working and training hard he audition for Rhapsody the company and has been apart of the company since 2004. From then on he has been working hard and it has paid off. He has been blessed to work with such choreograhpers as Luther Brown, Dave Scott, Chuck Maldanado, Nu Styles, just to name a few. His job credits include major movies such as "Stomp the Yard," "Step Up 2" and dancing for various artists and performing with Rhaposdy the company.
Growing up in Arlington, VA, George Jones began dancing at a relatively late age. Once he graduated high school, he attended Marymount Manhattan College where he studied ballet, modern, and jazz for 4 years. In 2006 he receive his Bachelors of Arts in Dance. In the fall of 2006 he auditoned for Rhapsody the company and has been a proud member ever since. From 2006 until present day, George has had the honor of working with such gifted Choreographers as Flii Stylez, Fatima Robinson, Chuck Maldanado, Luarieann Gibson, and of course Rhapsody James just to name a few. He's also been bless to have worked on jobs such as, Vh1 Hip-Hop Honors, Latin Grammy Awards, and danced for artist like, Mc Lyte, Lil Kim, NIna Sky, Boa, and Avery Storm. George has been bless by God with a talent, and feels as though you should never stop growing because God gives you a starting point and expects you to use it to your best of your ability and expand on what he has given you.
Their class is a rigorous learning experience which, combined with their energetic and fun personalities, makes for a comfortable and motivational environment that allows you work to your full potential. They focus on musicality and being inside of the music first and foremost. They then concentrate on the cleanliness of the movement, while allowing the students' personal styles to emerge.
