Philip John Orsano was born in Queen, NY and began his training at the Long Island High School of the Arts. After spending two years at LIHSA, Orsano went on to further his training at Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he received his B.F.A. in Dance Performance. Here he performed works by Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Max Stone, Danny Buraczeski, and many others. Not only was Philip able to train at SMU as a dancer, but he was also able to teach, choreograph, and present his own works.
Orsano has had the honor to have worked and toured with such companies as Hubbard Street 2 and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. At these companies he was able to work with such choreographers as Dwight Rhoden, Desmond Richardson, Igal Perry, Jae Man Joo, Robert Battle, Christian Spuck, Yarden Rhoden, Brian Enos and many others. Orsano has also taught for many schools around Chicago and the states for Hubbard Street 2, as well as teaching for Complexions Summer Intensives and guest classes around the world.
Commercially, Phil has had the opportunity to work on the Italian TV Program AMICI di Maria di Filippi for two seasons, choreographed by Danny Ezralow. He also can be seen on an epsiode of MOBBED, hosted by Howie Mandel, on a skit "Head Swap" on the JIMMY FALLON SHOW, and on THE CLIENT LIST promo soon to be out in theaters with Jennifer Love Hewitt. He has performed for Madonna's Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project, Dana Foglia's VATIC, the Ellenie Universal CityWalk Show, on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with BP MAJOR, KINNECT Xbox360 in Times Square featuring Lady Sovereign and Ne-Yo, and others.
