Jason "Booogie" Santana was born and raised in East Harlem, New York. Music has always played a big part in his life. Everything from Salsa to Hip-Hop to Dancehall. Initially he began dancing by force. His mother and aunts would make me perform at house parties for family and guests. Like most dancers, Michael Jackson was a major influence for Jason, not only for his music but his stage performance. Along with music, he's always had a passion for performing and at 13 he joined Susan Rybin talent management and began taking acting lessons.
Later on, Jason attended Talent Unlimited High School where he was surrounded by artists of all mediums; vocalists, visual, musicians, dancers and actors. High school is where he flourished and started appreciating art in all forms. He learned a little bit of everything. Shortly after he joined Culture Shock New York ,a dance company that focused on dance training, as well as youth development and community advice. Jason says that CSNY was the biggest influence in his dance career. There he learned to listen to music not as a consumer, but as an artist. Through this experience he learned the importance of musicality.
Shortly after Jason was signed to Bloc Agency, one of the largest dance agencies in NY and LA. He has been featured on MTV, NBC, ABC, and BET. He has been featured inmusic videos with major Latin recording artists and and has performed with upcoming artists including, Kristine Elezaj and Jussie Smollet. Last year, Jason was featured in the romantic comedy When in Rome starring Kristin Bell and Josh Duhamel. Additionally, Jason has worked with major NY choreographers such as Luam, Rhapsody James, Tweetie, and Angel Feliciano. Jason has always said, "The day performing becomes a job I'll walk away from it."
