Zanza Steinberg is a New York City based dancer, choreographer, and Artistic Director of ALMA NYC*.
Zanza has taught internationally in Spain and the U.K., at the prestigious Pineapple studios in London, as well as teaching here in NYC and running weekly company classes for her Core dancers of ALMA. Her choreography has been performed at various theaters around NYC and has opened the runway at Couture Fashion Week for the past four seasons. Zanza also choreographed and directed 'WHET' an original immersive work featuring live music, vocalists, actors and movement.
As a performer, Zanza has toured throughout Europe, and aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines; her favorite credit being Chicago,The Musical (Mona). She has studied extensively in the Fosse genre and worked with the Verdon-Fosse estate in re-staging orignal works with the archival team. This summer, she will be performing the role of Graziella in West Side Story, directed by Bob Richard and choreographed by Diane Laurenson.
*ALMA NYC is a performance based collective in NYC devoted to fostering its artists and creating community, while serving local and international philanthropic organizations. ALMA has worked with many other non-profit companies for various outreach and volunteer projects such as - Giving Africa, The Ronald McDonald House, The Pajama Program, ASTEP On Stage, Awareness Through Dance, M.O.V.E, The Lillian Both Actors Home and BDC Gives. These projects have enabled artists to use their gifts to create a powerful impact on various communities. ALMA continues to perform in NYC while also responding to current global issues within their outreach extension of the company.
