Who We Are
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Broadway Dance Center (BDC). Since 1984, BDC has built a reputation as a dancer’s “home away from home.” Offering unsurpassed dance instruction focusing on technique and musicality, we have solidified our outstanding reputation worldwide. Whether you’re a beginner or have chosen the performing arts as your career, we open the doors to exploration and discovery. Our Teaching Faculty
Our Faculty, of more than 70 professionals, is fully committed to your development and training. You are sure to find a favorite teacher within this diverse group! Our teachers work professionally in various aspects of their field and bring their expertise and knowledge into the classroom. Information on each teacher is accessible on our Faculty Pages.
Our Administrative Staff
All members of our staff work as a team to ensure the studio is run in a highly efficient and well organized manner. From program administrators, scheduling planners to event coordinators, BDC has unique employees who love what they do, and whose primary goal is to support our growth and stability.
Membership Organizations
Broadway Dance Center is a member of United Dance Merchants of America (UDMA) and has had an affiliation with Pace University (New York City campus) through its undergraduate dance program.
What We Offer
Class Schedule
Our “drop-in” class
schedule (for ages 13 and up) is a comprehensive list of
classes available on-line and in print. The schedule
format is arranged by discipline. Each class is notated with
the teacher’s first or last name, level, time and day
it is held. This schedule remains the same except for additional classes added during our Summer Schedule (June—September). A hard copy, inlcuding the Class
Level Key, is be available in our lobby or download.
Guest Services
Dedicated to making your visit to BDC as enjoyable and convenient as possible, we provide a Guest Services Department to answer any questions you may have about classes and the studio.
Workshops & Events
In addition to our classes, we offer workshops, master classes and special events. Please visit our Web site often for updated information.
Children & Teen Program
Young dancers, beginning at age 4, are taught multiple disciplines that focus on building a strong foundation for a love of dance. Held after school and on weekends, our program boasts an ethnically diverse group of children. Teens are welcome whether they are seeking a professional level or just starting out.
Performance Opportunities
We are pleased to present our Student Showcase in the fall and spring of each year. Held in a large auditorium or theatre setting, students perform with their fellow students in a dance piece choreographed by their favorite teacher.
International Student Visa Program (ISVP)
We offer a concentrated course of study (for 3,
6 months or 12 months) for international
students. Our program flourishes with students from Japan,
Australia, Korea, Norway, India, France, Spain, Germany, Italy
and more!
Work Study & Internships
All Work/Study and Intern Programs are temporarily suspended during our trarnsitional perios (Jan–April 2007).
The Shop at BDC
Exciting items branded with our logo such as T-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, camisoles and bags are available for sale at our on-site store or online.
The Essentials
BDC ClubCard
Our free student ID card is necessary for all students to present at each class sign-in. Become a member by filling out a short on-line form available at www.BDCClubCard.com, and then have your picture taken.
