ALMA NYC and BDC Team Up to Support Giving Africa

ALMA NYC and Broadway Dance Center are teaming up with Giving Africa to help them build a school in Gourcy, Burkina Faso by hosting a Theater master class with Zanza Steinberg. Zanza is the Artistic Director of ALMA NYC, and works closely with Giving Africa in their efforts to raise educational awareness in Burkina Faso, which is one of the most illiterate countries in the world. Giving Africa is setting up an education system to help lift the people of Burkina out of poverty.

In addition, this month they are traveling to Nairobi and Tanzania and teaming up with dancers from London to deliver medical supplies, visit clinics and local hospitals, work with children in orphanages, and lastly to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in support of Giving Africa and the construction of the Bethel School.

We thank you in advance for supporting our project by dancing with us! All proceeds from this class will go towards Giving Africa.

Bonnie and Jim Supporting Australia's Special Olympics

Theater choreographer Jim Cooney and Director of Educational Programming Bonnie Erickson appeared recently on Australia's most popular morning show Sunrise in an extraordinary segment. Jim choreographed a beautiful dance to Imagine for the Special Olympics dancers -- the piece is now being considered as the opener for the Asian games and the dancers are planning a trip to BDC!
