Urban Dance League
Created by BDC Faculty Member Anthony Rue II, Urban Dance League is pioneering sports league of organized street dance classes, competitions and shows. Dancers are athletes and UDL's setting out to show the world. Are you game?
Urban Dance League's Training Program will be relocating for the January 2015 season. BDC will continue to host UDL weekly drop-in classes giving dancers the opportunity to learn choreography and training methods from UDL coaches. Not only does UDL provide advice on how to achieve a successful career in the dance industry, it trains your body, exposing you to choreographers of differing styles. You are an athlete. You’re put on the spot in high-pressure dance challenges where you have to think fast on your toes & show your best talent & agility.
When I took my first UDL class, I had no idea how impactful it would be for me as well as many other dancers. It was fresh and—more importantly—it was competitive. Each class requires you to step outside of your comfort zone, and challenges you to step up to a new level. UDL takes the experience of trained professionals and gives them a platform to teach the new generation of dancers what exactly is needed to succeed in the dance world. My confidence as a dancer and a person has grown both in and outside of class.
