Holly Kerr is a ballet graduate of the Univ. of North Carolina School of the Arts and holds a Master of Arts in Ballet in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance in Education (SUNY Empire State College). She is a graduate of DEL/92Y/Dance Education Laboratory and is certified in Pilates, A.I. Flexibility, New York City Ballet Workout and as an American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer. For eleven years, Holly was a teaching artist for the New York City Ballet Education Department high school ballet program. She conducted teacher trainings and professional development for New York Department of Education high school dance teachers; and master classes and choreography workshops based on the New York City Ballet repertory for high school dance students at New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center; and in performing arts high schools such as Frank Sinatra School of the Arts.
Holly conducted teacher trainings in ballet and fitness pedagogy for national and international ballet teachers, master classes and choreography workshops for the New York City Ballet Workout at New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center; and in London, until the program ended in 2011. Holly was a choreographer for the American Ballet Theatre Education Department Make a Ballet high school ballet program and created ballets for BDC’s AIM (Arts in Motion). Holly served on the ballet faculties of Denver Ballet Academy and Brant Lake Dance Camp, and conducted master classes and workshops at The Pulse and major dance and fitness centers in New York City and nationally.
Performing highlights include MGM’s Hallelujah, Hollywood (principal dancer), Ballet Colorado (soloist), Ziegfeld: Strains of Haunting Refrains, Edison Theatre; national/international tours/MTV as one of The Flirts (’80s female pop trio), and film, television and theatrical productions as a SAG-AFTRA and AEA member. Holly writes on ballet and dance science and lectured at the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, and at Lincoln Center.
