Katharine Ponza is originally from Sydney, Australia. She has worked as a Performer, Instructor and Choreographer in Australia, the US and Canada. Her credits include Sydney 2000 Olympics, Disney's World on Ice (Sydney), Tap Soloist with the Brad Child Jazz Orchestra (Sydney). For four years she was featured in the cast of the iconic "Jubilee!" at Bally's, Las Vegas, and in the cast of Golden Rainbow/Ribbon of Life, also performing at the Las Vegas Hilton, Paris Theatre, and Caesar's Palace (Las Vegas). She has been a Guest Faculty member at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver, BC, and a Guest Choreographer for ITP. Katharine has performed in numerous Shows, Concerts, Festivals and Events at venues including, (in her native Australia) Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre and Australian Parliament House; (in NYC), Birdland, Symphony Space, The Joyce Theatre, Duke Theatre, 92Y, and Iguana.
Katharine is a member of the Teaching Faculty at Broadway Dance Center NYC, Shuffles Broadway Tap & Musical Theatre School NYC, and STEPS NYC, and has taught as Sub/Guest Faculty at institutions including NYU (Steinhardt), LIU Brooklyn, and 92nd Street Y. She also teaches Master Classes for Broadway in Motion NYC. Katharine has performed at Big Apple Tap Festival, Tap City - New York City Tap Festival, Tradition in Tap and Stamp-ede, to name a few, and she has performed as a "Zeigfeld Girl" for the Zeigfeld Society in NYC. She teaches Master Classes throughout the U.S. and internationally, and serves as an Adjudicator at Dance Competitions across the country. She performs frequently around NYC with companies including Germaine Salsberg's "Les Femmes" and Jackie Covas' "Honey Taps".
