Michael Trusnovec hails from Yaphank, New York, began dancing at age 6 , and attended the Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset, NY. In 1992, he was honored by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (youngARTS), and was named one of only 20 Presidential Scholar in the Arts.
In 1996, he received a BFA in Dance Performance from SMU in Dallas, Texas dancing in the varied works of Anna Sokolow, Frederic Ashton, Bob Fosse, George Balanchine, Martha Graham and Paul Taylor.
Mr. Trusnovec has been a dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company since 1998, originating roles in the critically acclaimed Banquet of Vultures and Beloved Renegade, and performing principal roles in such beloved works as Arden Court, Company B, Last Look, Speaking in Tongues, and Esplanade. He teaches Master Classes in the Taylor style around the world, and was featured in the 2004 PBS Great Performances: Acts of Ardor. Additionally, he has appeared in dances by former Taylor dancers, Hernando Cortez and Patrick Corbin.
In 2006, Mr. Trusnovec was the proud recipient of a New York Dance and Performance Award (“Bessie”) for his Body of Work during the 2005-06 season.
