Amanda Turner was born in Nottingham, England and trained at the prestigious Elmhurst Ballet School in Camberley where her teachers included Merle Park, principle dancer and artistic director of The Royal Ballet.

Upon leaving Elmhurst she secured a soloist ballerina position with Israel National Ballet, and continued her classical career in Europe with Munich Ballet Theatre, Vienna Ballet Theatre and Gala performances with the Royal Ballet (with Wayne Sleep). Her repertoire includes such classics as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Giselle, Les Sylphides, Sleeping Beauty, Serenade, Paquita, Romeo and Juliette, as well as a wide variety of modern and contemporary works.

Ms. Turner was the recipient of the Sylphide Cup in London which was adjudicated and presented by Dame Ninette de Valois. She was also granted an honory privellege by The Royal Academy Of Dance (A.R.A.D.) for outstanding performance.

Ms. Turner was offered the position of solo dancer in The Phantom Of The Opera by choreographer Gillian Lynn and decided to accept. Other musical credits include Evita, West Side Story, Hello Dolly, Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Little Me and Damn Yankees. Before the death of the late Gwen Verdon, Ms. Turner was fortunate enough to be coached by her and has studied, taught and danced the "Fosse" repertoire extensively. She was also asked to assist Ann Reinking with her Masterclass series in New York.

Now, Ms. Turner is the Artistic Director of her own dance company The Turner Project who made their off-broadway debut at the Mazer Theatre, NYC in May 2003, and performed their full length program Out Of Water in 2004, at The Duke Theatre on 42nd Street.

Ms. Turner teaches professional Theatre Dance at Broadway Dance Centre in New York City where she specializes in the Fosse style and is now also teaching Advanced Beginner Ballet which she hopes will inspire all her theatre students to take advantage of this opportunity to study ballet in a "theatre friendly" environment. This ballet class is suitable for serious ballet students alike. Ms. Turner has been invited to teach and adjudicate at several major National Ballet Conventions this fall as well as give Masterclasses in Theatre Dance and acting.

Ms. Turner works throughout the U.S. and internationally as a teacher, choreographer, consultant and performs occasionally!
