June Chin started ballet at age 3 & trained with Helena Baron, Paul Sutherland & Brunilda Ruiz. June Chin started ballet at age 3 & trained with Helena Baron, Paul Sutherland & Brunilda Ruiz. She also studied at the School of American Ballet for 2 years before going on to train with Madame Gabriella Darvash (graduate of the Vaganova Academy), who was named as one of the top ten greatest teachers of the 20th century.
June won first place in the NJ Arts Festival two years in a row & has performed as a principal dancer with The Ilya Gaft Ballet Theatre, Whitney Ballet in Upstate New York, Staten Island Ballet & as a principal guest artist performing in Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, Costa Rica & Hong Kong, China. She has performed most of the principal roles of the Ballet repertoire as well as being specifically choreographed for different contemporary ballets. In 1998 June choreographed the Mulan Parade for Disney Land and Disney World under the direction of Jean-Luc Choplin (1984-1995 Paris Opera Ballet General Administrator) choreographing for over 300 dancers. She was also the Assistant Artistic Director of the School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, CA for 13 years, restaging many of the classic ballets as well as teaching, choreographing, directing & coaching dancers to compete at the Youth America Grand Prix, Prix de Lausanne & the Beijing International Ballet Competition.
June holds a BS degree in Business Management & has completed the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Teaching Certificate for grades 1-8. She’s currently teaching in NJ & is a substitute teacher for Broadway Dance Center.
