Broadway Dance Center Children and Teens is proud to offer 16-week and 32-week programs, as well as drop-in classes.
Groovaroo: These are 45-minute classes for the child and parent/caregiver. We’re thrilled to introduce these fun babywearing dance classes with our GroovaRoo Dance certified BDC Children & Teens faculty to our new W65 location! These classes are geared toward parents/caregivers of ALL levels and prior dance experience. The classes emphasize creating a safe and fun dance environment for you and baby.

Listen & Wiggle is the perfect class to introduce your baby to the fundamentals of music & movement in this 45-minute drop-in class. This class utilizes songs and gided movements to get babies bouncing and grooving. Caregivers participate in guided play using musical instruments, mazes, and parachutes to encourage cognitive learning and physical development.
Baby Movers is a 45-minute drop-in class for the child and parent/caregiver. This class builds upon the fundamentals of music and movement introduced in Listen & Wiggle, and gets your tiny dancer out on the floor. The development of basic motor skills are encouraged by incorporating creative movement, rhythm & musicality, and introduction of basic dance terminology.
Broadway Ballet is a high energy dance class to introduce your child to the magic of Musical Theater. This class takes dancers through the basics of jazz and ballet while using songs from the Great White Way.
Creative Movement introduces rhythm and musicality, elementary ballet skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements referencing animals and nature.
Tumbling is an intro to gymnastics fundamentals and body awareness in a fun and playful environment.
Hip-Hop focuses on the popular urban style of dance. Class work consists of a cardio and strength building warm-up, stretching and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations.

Ballet focuses on the foundations of proper body alignment, technique, and vocabulary. In this class dancers develop flexibility, coordination, and confidence.
Jazz incorporates foundations of proper body alignment, technique, flexibility and classic jazz dance vocabulary with an upbeat rhythm-based style.
Boys' Technique explores the fundamentals of ballet and jazz technique. While boys are, of course, welcome in all our classes, this class focuses on the unique attributes of strength and style that set male dancers apart.
Musical Theater Dance (^) builds on the fundamentals of jazz technique while adding elements of acting and storytelling in the classic Broadway style.
Tap combines rhythm and coordination to make music with the feet and body. Students will learn the basics of tap technique and musicality.
Hip-Hop focuses on the popular urban style of dance. Class work consists of a cardio and strength building warm-up, stretching and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations. Intermediate level classes are for dancers with 2-3 years of experience.
Breaking is a style of street dance which focus primarily on four types of movement: top rock, down rock, power moves, and freezes. This class combines fundamentals of these skills with hip-hop foundations.
Acro incorporates elements of both jazz and acrobatics instruction focusing on flexibility, tumbling, strength, and technique with an upbeat rhythm-based style
Lyrical (^) is a style that builds upon a foundation of classical ballet technique with an emphasis on finding freedom in the movement. Dancers focus on understanding the dynamics and initiation of the movement along with a sense of breath, musicality, and connection to a story.
Jumps & Turns (^) builds upon classic ballet and jazz technique with a focus on across the floor progressions to build skill and understanding of leaps, turns, and floorwork.
Acting incorporates improvisational work, movement, and scene work to encourage dancers to connect with the craft and technique of acting in a relaxed and fun environment.
Level & Pre-Requisite Guide:
AL- All Levels
Beg or I – Beginner Level, no prior experience necessary
Beg/Int or I/II- Advanced Beginner Level, at least 1 to 2 years of prior experience in the style
Int or II – Intermediate Level, 2 to 3 years of prior experience in the style
Adv or III- 4+ years of dance training in multiple genres

African combines rhythm and music to the rich tradition of African dances. Students will gain an understanding of the traditional dances all while improving strength and stamina.
World Dance is a high energy class where students explore the rich diversity of traditional world dances through movement and rhythm.
